Apparently, there is some secret code in rock and Alt/rock music that states your image has to be a certain way. Such as : bad to the bone, drug sex and rock and roll, wild hair , tattoos and pricings , a rebel without a cause… To be honest. I think its crap. Yes, there are people who truly are that way and I completely respect and admire there self expression. However, I’m sick and tired of being stereotyped.. I have been fighting it for years because of my so called “ pop” “ pretty” image. SO WHAT IF I LOOK “POP” aka “girly” My heart is in alternative rock and melodies/music with meaning and pure emotion. I am confidant in who I am and I think its bull shit to have to try and change the way I look to fit a image of rock . I AM ME. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind changing my fashions or my hair and makeup . However, telling me I need tattoos and that I need to start hanging with a different crew isn’t going to happen unless I want it to. This is why there aren’t a lot of originals anymore.. because they are forced to change who they are and sell out. If people wont except the way I look and wont respect or listen to my music because I don’t fit the general idea of alt rocker chic.. than they are prejudice, ignorant and will be missing out on my self expression .
