About

About JGrowing up in a small town in Utica, New York, J. Antonette always had a love for lyrics and melodies. Entertaining her family and friends with her silly skits and tabletop shows, her parents knew she was destined to entertain. At a young age she was strong-minded and driven. Throughout her adolescence she became interested in all different types of genres and forms of expression. With a background in dance and music, J was determined to excel and express herself in ways ordinary words couldn’t. Words poured onto the pages, melodies flew out of her mouth. Her passion as a lyricist began.

Two weeks after graduating from high school she was City bound. After moving to NYC, she quickly realized she was no longer in Utica. Although feeling home sick, she persevered and escaped into her obsession. She put out her first demo in 2008. Her work ethic shined through as she produced everything from the lyrics, melodies, packaging, photo shoots and the duplication and co-production of the demo. “It was a stepping stone that showed me who I was as an artist and where I did and didn’t want to go with my music.”

Her much anticipated Victorian era inspired Pop/Alt-Rock album is set to debut in the Spring of 2011. This album is expected to showcase her emotional lyrics with music and melodies that capture the essence of Victorian romance and elegance.

She’s neither gothic nor punk. “I’m just me. I’m a feminine rocker; I like heels and sneakers. I’m wild with emotions: often times a non-conformist. Laughing is probably one of my favorite things and yes, I have my “blonde moments,” but I feel that I’m successful when I can move people with my music and be moved by them in return. I love the way music is like a fantasy world. I love that you can envision a movie every time you hear a good song. I’m happy and mad all at the same time and a little bit crazy but that makes me, me! Most of all, I love to love.”
